Some Lidia bulls with long legs

Lidia, the Spanish fighting bull, is probably one of the least-derived cattle breeds on this world. Their morphology is much like that of a wild bovine, except for the short legs that most individuals have. While browsing on youtube, I found a video that shows Lidia bulls with comparably long legs. Especially in the light brown bull at 8:48 it looks like the withers height equals the trunk length due to the long legs, which was also the case in the aurochs.

Here is the video

All of this bulls have a very good physique. While they are probably young and would grow a bit heftier when fully grown, they would be very valuable for "breeding-back".

  1. It looks like these bulls would be a handful to handle, though.

  2. Good evening. What can you say about the Fadjen bull? Is it a pure Lidia or a cross-breed? And how his behavior can be explained?

    1. I think it's a pure Lidia bull. Not all Lidia bulls are hyperagressive, many get slaughtered because they do not show enough "fighting spirit". This might be such an individual. And cattle behaviour also depends a lot on socialization.

    2. In that case it can be bull with lower quality, as it shows smaller hump and bigger size than usual individuals. Interesting, why such kind of bulls are not used for breeding-back?

  3. Can we use bucking rodeo bulls for breeding-back. It's interesting how Lidia x Bucking cattle x Taurus (or very good Heck cattle with big horns) could look like.

  4. Would we be able to utilize kicking rodeo bulls for rearing back. It's fascinating how Lidia x Bucking steers x Taurus (or excellent Heck cows with huge horns) could resemble.
