The Quagga Project now has an online studbook where all their current animals can be viewed. Looking through all those photos gives you a nice overview on their preliminary results, and some of their more progressed animals are indeed pleasant to look at - not only is the striping greatly reduced, but some individuals also developed a quite decently brown background colour.
Check out these individuals (the uppermost, "Freddy", is the most Quagga-like in my opinion):
